"There is symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of the birds... There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter..."
-- Rachel Carson
My interest in photography re-ignited into the digital world, a far cry from my makeshift darkroom and chemicals of a forgotten era, when I became a grey nomad and opened my horizons far beyond what I had ever experienced before.
The real Australia is out beyond the city limits, the coast and the beaches where the golden hour sets fire to the red dirt, dust and the deserts to transform them into spectacular scenery.
With the setting sun the night sky turns into a magic lantern with masses of twinkling stars in the milky-way which seem almost reachable. My camera became my constant companion and still is as I often thought I wish I had a camera and the moment is gone.
Our interests change and mine has ventured into the world of bird photography where pleasure comes from being one with nature and finding on occasion a new species to add to my collection.
